Fading Fast

Fading Fast

A typical south Texas sunset, and one has to be quick to capture them at times :{)))

Morning has Broken

Morning has Broken

On the opposite side of the day, sunrise. One never knows what you shall be greeted with. They could be plain Jane, or an all out artwork.

Morning World

Morning World

Not the great colors that we often get down here, but a dynamic contrast worthy of a capture.

Sunnyside Up

Sunnyside Up

Running out to the street with camera and tripod in hand. Blessed to capture this awaking of the world.

Kingsville Sunset 8.29.14

Kingsville Sunset 8.29.14

Sometimes, though pretty plain, they cry out to be captured. Not the best of locations, even the greatest of colors, just needed to be captured.

Dock of the Bay Too

Dock of the Bay Too

After looking thru some Black and White galleries, I decided to take a trip, down memory lane. For, remember, I'm old(61), and got my start on black and white film. Working in On1 10.5, I took it back into the 60's, when I first used a camera, a Kodak Brownie :{)))

Twilight Fun

Twilight Fun

An early twilight sky and a recently cropped pecan tree and you've the beginning's of this shot. Sent to Topaz Glow and brought to a new light via "Fur and Feathers II." Adding a painterly textures, causing all to flow together into one :{)))

Shadow of Former Self

Shadow of Former Self

An old tree, with but little to hang onto. One fair size shoot coming up from it's roots. There is still life within, though the outside looks as if all is lost.

Shadow of Former Self Too

Shadow of Former Self Too

Having just updated Topaz Impression to version 2, I had to see what laid inside. This is the results, which you can also view the original here also. Worked up in "Watercolor II" and then switching it into "Color" mode at full opacity brought about this results. A little more saturation to the colors, plus an increase in the overall textures of the original :{)))

Shadow of Former Self 3

Shadow of Former Self 3

Sometimes, just sitting around, a little bored. The idea will pop into my head to try something. Here, after watching a video on Luminosity Mask, I went to work. Not exactly with the mask, for it wasn't achieving that which I was looking for. So, to the layers panel in On1. Treating it first with a "black and white" preset and then doing a "quick mask" and working only on the sky. This, is the results, after even more work on the photo :{)))

Ye Old Lamp

Ye Old Lamp

Out on a walkabout(chore-walk) and taking my camera. When right around the corner this laid hidden. Only cleaned up in Photoshop, to remove part of another lamp and cropped to remove excess tree.

One of a Kind

One of a Kind

The "One of a Kind" sunset that I was blessed to capture tonight. Truthfully, I've never witnessed one like it before!!! The vertical lines were as crisp and clear as could be, as if GOD had stenciled them into the sky :{)))

First Light

First Light

Oh, what does "First Light" have to offer us, but to awaken us to the blessings of a new day :{))) Just a little 'dynamic contrast' added to bring out that which I was blessed with yesterday. A truly marvelous sunrise, to which the day ended in like manor!!!

Rolling In

Rolling In

Here I was, going thru presets and adjustments and nothing seemed to hold the value of the SOOC shot :{))) Though I may still run one of them on this photo, for right now natural is a go!!! Though you can see that this is like another shot, it was made by increasing the shutter speed, to decrease the exposure. Bringing about that which could almost be considered a sepia photo!?!

BOOM

BOOM

BOOM!!! This is what start off all my clicking of the shutter, the other day. Though when starting to process the shots, I couldn't quite get the colors right. But now :{))) Only minimal work done in Lightroom. A gradient filter, some saturation, dehaze and a little brush work to lighten the foreground. Now, can anyone blame me for waiting, until I could get it right!?! It only took about a minute and those colors were subdued into "One of a Kind."

The Visitor

The Visitor

Just another beautiful morning on Baffin Bay, Texas. No, I'm not there this morning in body, but am in spirit, due to running thru my files. It'd be nice :{)))

Just Typical

Just Typical

Gee, I thought we were going to have one of those "out of the ordinary" sunsets, but it was "Just Typical" for this time of year :{))) Then again, our south Texas sunrises and sunsets, are always normal!!!
This lasted only a few seconds and I almost missed it. I was watching the clouds and sun to the west. Then turned to catch the beginning of this intense burst of color. I've only done some minor tonal adjustments to the original RAW shot, to bring out that which I saw at the moment.
I did have to run it thru Topaz Denoise, this due to my camera's inability to handle anything close to low light. This was shot at ISO 800 and on newer cameras this would of been no problem. But my D3100 made it look like a child's sandbox!!! (That's why I NEED to update my gear!!!!!!!
