Two Birds in Hand

Two Birds in Hand

Captured these two, in more ways than one. They'd flown into the apartment and couldn't get out, so I captured them both and then captured them again in print.

Spin Around

Spin Around

In the moment before he left.

On a Pole

On a Pole

A Red Bellied Woodpecker, perched pretty on a clothesline pole. Gracing me with a portrait shot.

Seagull Walking

Seagull Walking

Just strolling down the pier towards us, while fishing, so it got shot and immortalized in film.

Boat-tailed Grackle

Boat-tailed Grackle

Hard to get the details on these correct, low dynamic range on my camera, so I beefed it up a bit in Topaz Glow. Using "Fur and Feather II" to bring out a little more of the detail.

Lone Egret

Lone Egret

Another of the species that I've been blessed to capture at the pond. Pushing the limits of my lens(Sigma 70-300mm,f/4-5.6) with this shot.

Green Heron 1

Green Heron 1

At a local pond, capturing the wildlife as it graced me. This one stopped in to feed and was close enough to capture several decent shoots.

Green Heron 2

Green Heron 2

A second from the series. Perched on top of the rock, behind where first shot was taken.

Black Titmouse

Black Titmouse

A Black Titmouse perched outside my apartment window. Allowing me the time to step out and capture a few shoots.

Thru the Screen

Thru the Screen

A little buddy, posing just outside my window, shoot thru the window screen. If you look close, you'll see the screen in the bokeh :{)))

Waiting

Waiting

Three of a neighbor's dogs, waiting at the backdoor. Being patient at the moment, but they weren't always so.

You lookin' at Me

You lookin' at Me

Something I heard a lot of when I was in prison, and seeing my buddy staring at me like this, brought the memory back. Nothing bad, cause my time down, was far from normal :{))) But, that's another story and one, already written down!!!

Eye in the Sky

Eye in the Sky

One I wasn't real happy with, due to the size of the Pelican within the photo. But after a run thru On1 Resize and a little cropping, that's been taken care of :{)))

Shot while on a fishing trip at Loyola Beach, Texas. At around 50 yards or so, with a 70-300 Sigma. Not the best of lenses for that range and with the limitations of my D3100, it's a surprising capture.

Get A Room

Get A Room

Getting ready to step out for a moment, when low and behold. Two lizards doing what comes natural. Come on guys, "Get A Room." :{)))

Fish Story

Fish Story

It's a big one. It sure is. Cause this is a mounted fish that had been displayed in the pond, farther to the right. But the recent tornado moved it here. In Photoshop, I removed the pipes on which it is mounted. Hence, giving it the look of actually being there. Photo was taken with my phone and enlarged in PS. Minor lighting and contrast adjustments made in Lightroom :{)))

Orange on Yellow

Orange on Yellow

Another of those butterflies that were all over the place today. What kind they are? I've no idea. I just know they're beautiful. The vibrant orange and iridescent spots on the underside of their wings. Seldom sitting still for any length of time, made for a challenge :{)))

A Double

A Double

Sometimes, photos are hard to find, and then at others, they come in droves. "A Double" is one of the latter. Having only captured about six frames on my 3 mile chore walk, it wasn't looking all that promising. Then as I rounded a corner in the garden, everything sprang to life around one bush. Enough, to make it hard to decide upon which to focus. That's when these appeared together and the choice was made :{))) An SOOC shot(and yes, the plants are still this vibrant here.)

Liz-ard

Liz-ard

Just one of those little critters that one would run into, on a south Texas walk. That is, if one is especially attentive to that which is around them. Then you might just be surprised, and see them, everywhere. Along with many other interesting creatures of the wilds :{)))

Mock Me

Mock Me

"Mock Me," a young Mockingbird this morning on my chorewalk. Run thru Lightroom for a few minor changes. Followed by a brief cleanup, crop and resize in Photoshop. Then into Topaz Glow 2, for a "Punched 1" preset work. Which truly wasn't anymore then clicking on it. They nailed it exactly as I wanted it. Not overpowering, but JUST enough to bring out the details in the feathers, while blurring the rest, just a hair :{)))

Waz Up Y'all

Waz Up Y'all

A young male squirrel marking his territory, takes a short break. Giving me a whimsical moment. Not noticing the little piece of straw(?) sticking out from the corner of his mouth. It was then that the name hit me, "Waz Up Y'all." Just playing the country bumpkin down here in south Texas:{)))

Little One

Little One

A Buff bellied Hummingbird, perched pretty upon a tree branch not far(15 foot) from my porch. Relaxing during the heat of our south Texas days.
