Forsaken Too

Forsaken Too

"Forsaken" was a far simpler job. Whereas "Forsaken Too" was labor intensive. Combining work in four programs(Lightroom, Photoshop, on1 and Topaz Glow) to come up with the final results. Shades of the 60's and 70's, when one may of had "In a Gada Vida" playing full blast :{))) (yes, I was one of those.)

Before the Gate

Before the Gate

Having passed this gate many a times, never thinking twice about it. Then this plant/bush/weed brought it to life, while camera was in hand. Taken to post, to add a bit of grunge(Topaz Texture Effects), then to distort reality a bit in Topaz Glow, with "Fur and Feathers II." There were also works done in Adobe's two(PS, LR) to add contrast and color blending.

51-7 Neon Sign

51-7 Neon Sign

It is just that. 5 adjustments, made in one program. Followed by 7, in another. With the final being Topaz Glow's Neon sign. Hence the name stands :{)))

Umpa

Umpa

Having taken an older photo to "bootcamp" in post processing. Most done in Topaz Glow, after an initial darkening of the outside in Photoshop.

Yellow and Black

Yellow and Black

When mushrooms pop up in one of your hanging baskets, what do you do??? If a photographer, you take some pictures first and then dispose of them :{)))

This is the results of numerous, low level runs thru several post programs, 7 or 8 if I remember right. Building it up with layers of minor alterations, to come to the final work. It's not a "throw it in a program and have the final product." It's working, adjusting, changing and readjusting, until the mind is pleased !!!

Southwestern Style Shell

Southwestern Style Shell

Here, I've taken a fairly flat macro shot, low dynamic range, contrast and texture, and given it a boost. Painting in shadows and contrasting areas. Adding colors and tones in Photoshop. Then running it thru a secondary program(?) to bring it all together :{)))

Three Spiders Waiting

Three Spiders Waiting

Three Purple Springs Spider Gerbera daisies, an intermediate shot, while building up the lighting and adjustments, for the photo that was intended(thus, they were waiting.) Taken later, into post and given a little training, in what to do while waiting :{)))

Beyond

Beyond

Because it was beyond the initial post processing session, which produced "Wo-ganvillia." Which you can view or purchase at one of my other pages(FB, G+,Viewbug, 500px.)

Though "Wo" was a fine work, there was just something missing. So, a couple more runs thru post, to take it "Beyond."

Shazam

Shazam

From the same project as another posted here, but farther along in the waiting process :{)))

Ol' Tree

Ol' Tree

If ever in Kingsville, and visiting the old section of town, you may see this ol' tree. For it's right out in plain sight. Though it doesn't quite look like this, so uncluttered. For there's a lot of "distractions" around it, that hinder one from viewing it's true beauty :{)))

(It's also been the subject of other shots, including our logo.)

Artful Lily

Artful Lily

Had this piece listed in the wrong "Gallery" at first. For there's the SOOC version in Flora, where this worked up photo had been. Since I'd posted it, and maybe someone had seen it, I brought home, where it should of been in the first place :{)))

Tentacles Up

Tentacles Up

Taking that which is ordinary, at least for down here, and turning it into, well, something different. The flower bud(?) of a Sago Palm, slightly manipulated in Topaz Glow.

Electric Star Gazer

Electric Star Gazer

Taking photos to the limits is fun. For one never truly knows what or where an image can end up. This is a Star gazer lily that's been pushed through Topaz Glow several times. See what I mean :{)))

Framed

Framed

Working in Topaz Impression 2 again. Taking a 2014 shot and spicing it up a bit. Adding an "Impressionistic" aire to it and once again changing the mode to "Color" for that final touch :{)))

Gardenia Bliss

Gardenia Bliss

A recent discovery at the Xeriscape Garden up the road from me. On my chore-walk yesterday, I smelled it, oh so pleasant. Just a while after a rain, but not having my camera, I couldn't capture a shot. So, this morning, the camera and I went for a walk. Though not captured with the rain droplets on it, as I would of yesterday, it's still a pleasant shot. A little work in post, to bring out the subtle textures of the leaves. A slight tweak of contrast, highlights and brightness and one has that inner glow of life :{)))

Urn and Husk

Urn and Husk

Taking a natural lite still life, running it thru Glow and then masking it in On1 layers to remove the background. Then a little cleanup in Photoshop and you have it :{)))
The original background, was my neighbor's backyard. This was taken on my front porch rail. Ten feet up in the air.

Oh Nanas

Oh Nanas

From a photo with my phone, resized and masked in On1 10.5.1. To Topaz Impression 2 and Glow. To a final clean up in Photoshop. Done, but not over done, as happens at times :{)))

Glowing Lola

Glowing Lola

Another part of the series. This time, only slightly modified in Topaz Glow. Using one of the "Fur and Feather" presets to begin the work with :{)))

Neon Lola

Neon Lola

Why not a series today!?! Processed in Topaz Glow, using several presets and blending modes to bring this patient to life :{))) Sister to "Lola RAW," and another to come shortly.

Van Gogh Touch

Van Gogh Touch

Taking the same photo, in another direction this time. This time into Topaz Impression 2. Gracing it with a little touch of Van Gogh :{)))

Paddles

Paddles

Though this is not that which I imagined in the beginning, it developed into such during processing. Running it thru Topaz Impression 2, three separate times. Altering it ever so diligently with each pass, not wanting to totally distract from the original's beauty :{)))

Under the Seat

Under the Seat

After reorganizing Lightroom, this photos has been staring me down, so I took the challenge. Take that you dirty rat, see what a challenge got ya :{)))
Worked up mostly in Topaz Glow, with a few minor changes made in Photoshop and Lightroom.

Inside Looking Out

Inside Looking Out

A new one, from an old one. This shot is over 3 1/2 years old, this was taken at a time that I was homeless, from my bedroom in a friend's garage. I just decide to see what I could come up out of it using my programs. The "Air Brush" preset in Topaz Glow, livened it up quite a bit :{)))

This, I think, was when the "bug" bit me and I started clicking away more with my camera.

Transitions

Transitions

That which "WAS" just a snapshot of one of my new living conditions, where I'd moved into a new apartment. Transition"ed" into a work of art through post processing. A combination, as usual, of several; Lightroom, Topaz Impression 2(Photo Painting 3) and On1 Resize(was a phone photo.) Working it and working it some more, to make something worthy of hanging on your wall :{)))

Quartet

Quartet

A couple of Gerbera daisies brought to life, by making them stand out on black. Processed in Topaz Glow, Lightroom and Photoshop to bring them altogether into this work :{)))

Windrower

Windrower

Urban Exploration? Yes!!! When in the rural southwest, you'll find most anything for sale in a car lot and that is where I found this Windrower(rows hay after cutting, to dry and later bale it.) It took a good bit of work to clear up the original before processing, much in the background to remove first. Then off for multiple trips thru Topaz Glow and Impression 2, before the final(not always) was achieved:{)))

Sultry Blue

Sultry Blue

Taking a photo from my phone, which you can see on Instagram, and resizing it in On1 10. Then taking it into Topaz Glow several times, for alterations to coloring and textures. Following up with two trips into Topaz Impression 2, for a softening, to induce an ethereal dreamlike state :{)))

The Embrace

The Embrace

The name comes from the impression I first got when I saw these two trees. Locked in an intertwined embrace, like two lovers. The original had a few elements that distracted from them, a car lot behind them. So, off to post I went. Some basic work done in Lightroom first. Followed by a crop and "trash" removal in Photoshop. Then into Topaz Impression 2, twice(1st-Chiaroscuro 2(backed off on vignette; 2nd Painting 2, for more brush work.) Followed up with a little brush work in Photoshop, to correct some "paintless" spots :{)))

Run for It Van Gogh Style

Run for It Van Gogh Style

Working this one up with Topaz Labs Impression 2. After a previous work up in several other programs. Can also be seen and bought @500px. @Viewbug and @marshall-barth.pixels.com

Posing Pretty

Posing Pretty

Since I'm rebuilding my system(after a hard drive failure,) and not having a whole lot to work with(lost many photos and programs,) I'm working up some old ones. A set of props, bought at the local store, Topaz Glow 2, and one can create a work of art. Am thankful, to even be getting this out. In need of a new system, for it could of been worse!!! A five year old computer, on which this is the second major problem experienced with it(one of over three months under the college's main tech couldn't fix(the LORD blessed me too though.)) :{)))

Trumpets in Motion

Trumpets in Motion

The butterflies were rampant today. Hundreds of them and seldom would one be still for more than a second. But it did happen. Then it was the wind to contend with. A little blur in focus, so it was used to accentuate the brush strokes within Topaz Impression 2. :{)))

Ol' Man by the Bay

Ol' Man by the Bay

Ol Man by the Bay, one from a fishing trip the other week. The first fish of the day. Processed in Topaz Labs, Texture Effects 2 and Impression 2. For when I saw the scene, I automatically thought "painting" :{)))

Another Pier

Another Pier

You can only shoot so many piers :{))) Just kidding, though I did want to change things up a bit. So this one went straight Impression 2. Not even a little bit of sensor dust:{)))

Vintage

Vintage

Feeling creative, I pushed it. Taking a "Vintage" hotrod and kicking it up a bit. Running the mill in post. Using Photoshop, to remove and alter the background. Running it thru Topaz Glow 2, next, to bring out the highlights and textures. Finishing up with Topaz Impression 2, using multiple blending modes to take it over the top :{)))

Spreadhand

Spreadhand

So many photos of the Orchid Tree, that I just had to run for plug-ins. Running the gambit of them. Working it up until it satisfied. First a little, and then back again for more. About 10 trips thru them to bring the final into being.

Welcome Sight

Welcome Sight

Again, taking today and transforming it into a vintage work of art. Using Photoshop, several trips thru Topaz Labs Texture Effects 2, with the finishing touches of their Impression 2.
For in the past, a church's steeple was a "Welcome Sight" for travelers on a journey. And being that this church is in the middle of town(Kingsville), and photo was covered with electric line and telephone poles, it was a journey to accomplish it :{)))

Hidden Veil

Hidden Veil

Taking an ordinary mushroom and making it extraordinary, thru post processing. Using some of the skills that I've recently learned to push it farther than before.
